One of the easiest and profitable ways to get off the ground with your own home based business is to start with an eBay account and a plan to start making money. An eBay business takes little to no startup capital and can wind up being as profitable and successful as the most prominent independent companies. It takes research, determination, and skill, but if you have these tools and a desire to learn, than you can make a success out of your eBay business.

Many businesses on eBay started off as little more than people seeing others around them selling off their unwanted merchandise, oftentimes for better prices than they would get in the classified section of their local paper. This is the way many eBay fortunes have begun. Simply look around your apartment or house and wonder at all the junk you have accumulated over the years. What is collecting dust today could be making you money tomorrow. Research a bit (which is as easy as browsing eBay for sold items) and see what you might be likely to get for your old, unwanted stuff. If the prices seem worth it to you, go ahead and start selling. At the very least, you’ll get your feet wet and see if eBay selling is something you might be interested in pursuing on a grander scale.

The next thing you’ll want to do is some broader research into the eBay world. First, make a list of about ten items you might want to sell on the auction giant. Then research these items and see how the competition is. It is possible to compete with established eBay companies, but this can be difficult for the fledgling startup. It would be far better to find a niche that seems to be mostly ignored, and target that base. It can even be a subset of a more popular and competitive market. Just by more specifically targeting the base, you can have a successful business on eBay.

Another way to make money on eBay, with almost no need for up front capital, is by selling informational e-Books. There is an entire section on eBay dedicated to these books. Surely you know how to do something better than anyone else you know. If not, research is your friend. If you can write, then you have all the tools necessary to create one of these powerful money making informational e-Books. It costs nothing, and you can sell it for any price you wish. The result, minus insertion fees, is pure profit.

Regardless of what you finally decide to sell, you will have to provide a decent product for a competitive price. Just like in the rest of the world (perhaps even more so), eBay is strictly run by the law of supply and demand. There is too much competition online to think you will make a success of your eBay business with anything less than full dedication and the perseverance needed to make any small company work in the long run.

Three Things NEVER To Do In Business

There are some things you should never do in business if you want to succeed. If you are already a successful business you are well aware of this. If you are a new business entrepreneur than these three tips may be very helpful to you.

The first thing you NEVER want to do is to skimp on advertising. Without proper advertising your business will chance taking a big loss in services or product sales. An example of this is a small business that puts out children’s audio CD’s is introducing a new product. The business is new and practically unknown. They do have a website, and a small advertisement in the local newspaper. Only a small area is going to be aware of this company and it’s CD. A better form of advertisement would have been advertising in several, larger newspapers. Having a billboard advertisement that can be seen in a heavily trafficked area. These may cost more, but you will reach a larger customer base. Without reaching customers, you fail.

Secondly, NEVER let your guard down with your business competition. If your business has a competitive market you want to definitely consider this. An example of this is a video store. You would want to be aware of what the other store offers. Is there a large selection? What are their prices per video per day? Do they offer any specials or discounts? You would want to keep up on both the smaller video stores as well as the larger video store chains in your area. You want to either match what is offered or offer a slightly lower fee. Customers love to save money, even a few dollars and cents.

Lastly, NEVER jump into a business without doing thorough research. You want to be sure you know all of the details about the business you are involved in. You want to know financial details as well as information about your competition. When you take the time to research a specific business you insure success for yourself. You wouldn’t want any surprises popping up when it comes to your business. You want to be able to set yourself up so that your business operates as smoothly as possible.

If you make an effort to follow the above guidelines on what NEVER to do in business then you are on the right track. You create a solid base for business success. Be sure not to jump into any business decisions without research and well thought out planning. Care for your business like you would your children. Give it what it needs to grow and you will be pleased with the end result. Be sure you follow the do’s and NEVER the don’ts and see your business soar.

These days, it seems like everyone wants to work
from home and make money on the Internet. But
before you even turn on your computer, the first
question you have to ask yourself is whether
you’re cut out for this kind of work.

The fact is, building a home-based business isn’t
for everyone. Some people like the commute. They
really do enjoy having a boss who tells them what
to do, and they like the routine of working
nine-to-five for an ordinary salary that can
barely pay the mortgage. Personally, I think
they’re nuts.

More reasonably, there are people who are
concerned about the risk of starting up their own
business. They’re not sure it’s worth the
investment of time and money, and they’re scared
of the responsibility that comes with running
their own company. They wonder if there is
another way to escape the rat race.

I’m sure there is. You could win the lottery or
wait for your Aunt Sue to keel over and leave you
her condo. Or maybe you could sit down with a pen
and paper and draw the blueprint for "The Next
Big Thing". Anything can happen... Right?

For me, what happened was creating a successful,
self-running Internet marketing system. It didn’t
happen without effort. It didn’t happen without
at least some initial investment of both time and
money and, of course, it doesn’t happen now
without me making sure that the taxes are filed
and the paperwork is done. But it happened.

I’m my own boss. I work from home according to my
own schedule and I get to pocket all the cash my
business makes. If you’re prepared to give an
e-business the time, the work and the money it
needs to get started and get growing, it can
happen for you too.

Article Writing for the Good of Your Business

Breaking into a newspaper can be a difficult prospect. Every day, reporters and editors are pitched from a broad range of sources for ideas that range widely from the extremely newsworthy to the ridiculous. With all of this competition for what it a very limited amount of space, the chances of getting your story before the subscribers eyes can be slim. To circumvent this problem, you can concentrate on a certain type of story. A story that speaks to a certain audience but isn’t necessarily timely. This type of story is called a feature and it can be the greatest thing that ever happened to your business.

A feature is designed to be a fully developed, in depth look at a certain topic that doesn’t need to correspond to the big news of the day. Under ideal circumstances, the story could be published today, tomorrow, or a year from now with the same effect. Unlike a press release, which gives the outlines of a happening that invites a reporter to dig under the surface to find the story, a feature is to be used just as it was sent in. Of course, after acceptance a newspaper has the right to edit it to fit the space available or leave out the content seen as superfluous.

The topics for a feature range as broadly as those for any other type of story. Health and home improvement are particularly good topics for a feature because they are subjects people are interested in on an ongoing basis. If your business lends itself to one of these topics, or to the topics of travel or technology, it would lend itself just as well to a feature story. These stories also have the advantage of being used in supplementary portions of a newspaper, such as the lifestyle section or one of the special Sunday sections. If you can get your feature in to one of these, it would be twice the bargain, as it has been shown that people have more time to pursue the paper on a leisurely Sunday than any other day of the week, meaning more eyes on your story and more time to digest the content.

In order to make your feature something a newspaper will want to publish, here are a few secrets of the trade to help you better sell your content. For one, you’ll want to have an attention grabbing headline. Lacking this, the editor will create one of their own design, but will they have as much personal interest in getting people to read the story as you have? Likely not. The headline may in fact be the most important aspect of your story. Ask yourself some questions about the article, and find a headline that answers these questions in a way that summarizes the meat of the article. If you can make it clever and witty, so much the better. But don’t try to get too cute. No one likes that. Finally, the content itself should be written in a style similar to the other articles in the paper. Review an issue or two and create your article with those templates in mind.

There are so many opportunities on the internet offering to set people up in their own home based internet business that it can be difficult to separate the real, legitimate opportunities from the ones that only want your money. Knowing what to look for hidden within the offers can mean the difference between finding a legitimate business to operate and ending up helping someone else make money while losing your own.

With most fraudulent offers for in internet business there are four red flags that need to be thoroughly investigated before signing up to work for the website. Understand that not all of the companies that make these claims are out to take your money, but these are four things that many less than honest companies have in common:

1. Large upfront investment
2. The chance to make big money with little work
3. Do not clearly state what you will be selling
4. Lack of available contact information

While it is not uncommon for business to want a fee to become a representative for their business, you have to consider the amount demanded from you before you can start selling their product or service. You should also have a clear picture of what you will get in return for your investment. It is common for the term training to be listed, but many times the training consists of links to other sites where you are expected to learn about the company’s business model.

The training may also focus on how to recruit others into the business, offering to pay a “bounty” for bringing in new people. A company that focuses on bringing in more people instead of selling the product may be on the border of being illegal.

Anyone who has ever been involved in a business knows it takes work. One of the most common pitches is the promise of a big payday without having to work more than an hour or two a day…or even a week. There is no such thing as a free lunch and those who try to convince you otherwise and not being totally honest. That disclaimer about income may not a representative of the potential earnings, should beg the question about why even bother to list it.

If you have been reading an online based business opportunity for several minutes and have no idea about the product or service you are being asked to sell, it could be an indication of a scam. Many keep it a secret until you have spent your money and find out there is no way you can sell this to others with a clear conscious. Know what the product is, and how much it will cost, before considering the offer any further.

Look for contact information. If the only means of contacting the company is through an email address, it could be they don’t plan to be around long enough to answer any questions or complaints. Money back guarantees are also only about as good as the contact information. Email addresses and post office boxes are not good contacts.

Leisure Audio Books Home Business Opportunity Review

Leisure Audio Books is working for me as I write!

I recently became a member of Leisure Audio Books, and I want to share my humble opinion with you today.

This is like nothing I have ever experienced before, I was shocked to find that is totally unique, never seen before, and I believe it to be revolutionary, and I'll explain why.

First, you must have a strong WHY.

Why must you make affiliate marketing work? What is driving you? What is it that you CAN'T have in your life anymore and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?

For me, I couldn't stand working 12+ hours a day anymore and missing the experience of my children growing up. I also absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control my life and finances through a little box that I could carry with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone's time pressures or demands but my own. It's almost always necessary to invest thousands of dollars to get an offline business off the ground. However, on the Internet you can often start a successful business for less than $100.
